Hero, the Frances-Anne Solomon film has made a triumphant comeback to T&T on April 7th, 2022, with a Gala Red Carpet Screening at Movie Towne. The Gala's Platinum and Presenting Sponsor is Republic Bank Limited.
The film, inspired by Justice Cross's fascinating and adventurous life, generated a stir in Hollywood when it premiered at the renowned Pan African Film and Arts Festival in 2020. This followed a thrilling and successful 40-city tour of England, Scotland, and Wales and screenings in Durban, South Africa, and the TIFF Bell Lighthouse in Toronto, Canada.
Even after theatres closed throughout the world, major online services like Amazon Prime, Showtime on Demand, and Cineplex.com picked up HERO. The picture was also shown at the Cannes Film Festival.
According to Frances-Anne Solomon, an Academy member and the film's director, 'we had to switch gears immediately and build on the momentum that existed…everyone wanted the film. I felt so pleased to see the reaction of people from all walks of life around the world.'
