Yaksta Wants to Free His People

Yaksta is at it again with a new single, 'Free My People'; this time, he features a new artist Nicola Jasmiin. The lyrics are commendable, but the song has too much of a familiar sound. It seems the dreaded Rinse and repeat has kicked in for Yaksta.

It's a rehash of the same slogans and song arrangement, which have been very successful in the past with songs such Assets (Fowl Coop) and Ambition. On this track, it's more of the same, which is a tad disappointing.

The inclusion of Jasmiin did not bring enough freshness to the single as her performance was not a slam dunk. One should not worry, however, as the artist is talented enough to break the stalemate.
