R&B singer Monique Lawz Shoots Dancehall influenced video in Jamaica

There is a growing trend for US, UK and Nigerian urban artists to shoot videos using the beautiful backdrop of Jamaica. So far Celeste, Stefflon Don, Pitbull, Stoneboy, Jay Z, Beyonce and Alacai Harley are among the artists who have chosen Jamaica as the location for their video shoot. In the case of sultry songstress Joja Smith, Jamaica was the backdrop for her fashion photo shoot which she showcased on Instagram during a recent trip to the island. Whether it’s the beautiful countryside of St Ann and Portland, the gritty urban streets of Kingston or Montego Bay, Jamaica seems to provide a background that is irresistible for popular acts of all genres. Who can blame them for choosing Jamdown, as the all the videos and pics are stunningly captivating. Adding to this growing list of artists is r&b sensation Monique Lawz, who recently released the visuals for her new dancehall influenced single, ‘Worth It which featuring grime godfather, Wiley. Celeste, Stefflon Don, Jorja Smith and Monique all have Jamaican heritage while Alacai Harley was born in Jamaica. The ‘Worth it’ video features picturesque scenes of the Bog Walk Gorge and the once famous Faith Pen road side eatery and a breath-taking waterfall scene which looks like Cane River in St Thomas.
