Hugh Masekela, the late legendary South African musician, will have new music released this year due to his collaboration with the Siparia Deltones Steel Orchestra on the CD "Siparia to Soweto".
"The Meeting Place" is the title of the first song on the upcoming album. The song features the late Masekela, the Father of South African Jazz, and Trinidad's King of Soca, Machel Montano, and was penned by master composer Carlton "Zanda" Alexander and Deltones director/arranger Akinola Sennon.
The Deltones will perform this as part of their submission to the 2023 Panorama Medium Conventional Band competition.
