TEEJAY SIGNS TO WARNER MUSIC

Guy Moot, Co-Chairman and CEO of Warner Chappell Music (WCM), secured the year's largest dancehall contract with the Solid Agency camp's Uptop Boss, Timoy "Teejay" Jones, this week in Manhattan at Warner Music Group.

Moot says he is happy to see dancehall music and another Jamaican artist in this context and on the global rise. It's the right artist with the right music at the right time. The co-chair has been influential with Jamaicans over two decades, having worked with 'Steelie and Clevie', 'And Steflon Don' and has been integral in Stephen' the genius' McGregor's career.

The summer's most popular song is "Drift" by TeeJay, which has over 20 million views on songstats and is the subject of numerous dance challenges. Drift has blown up internationally, with the biggest numbers in London, New York, Atlanta

and Africa.

With a major deal like this one and Warner Music machinery behind him, the artist's music will be exposed to sync rights and gaming.

The signing is consistent with the trend by record companies to sing artists who are blowing up on Tik Tok in the Tik Tok - to - Spotify - Pipeline.

Solid Agency Boss Sharon Burke chuckles that the deal was only two weeks in the making after sifting through myriad offers and finally feeling at home with Warner. "TeeJay will do well because he is a good artist who is committed to the music and the journey to the top."
