While it was widely expected to be on Polo's third studio album, 'Hall of Fame,' the tune was noticeably absent from the album's tracklist due to sample clearance issues in the months leading up to its release.
In an October 2021 Instagram post showcasing Polo G dressed as Jackson, the single was confirmed for release. On November 8, he announced its release for November 12 as the lead single of 'Hall of Fame's' deluxe edition.
Since the video's release on the same day, it gained over 2.5 million views on the popular video-sharing social media platform YouTube.
