Port-of-Spain meets Port-Au-Prince as Trinidadian soca stars KES (aka KES THE BAND) link up with Haitian-born producer Michaël Brun (J Balvin, Mr Eazi) and singer JPerry on 'Liki Tiki.' The single was co-written and co-produced by Dwala from Trinidad via Ineffable Records in California.
'Liki Tiki' combines an array of Caribbean music genres (soca, kompa, dancehall, reggaeton), i.e. one beat with multilingual English and Haitian Creole lyrics.
The result is a slow-wine anthem that will undoubtedly soundtrack dance parties throughout the Caribbean and the African Diaspora this summer.
According to frontman Kees Dieffenthaller, 'Liki Tiki' is how I describe our calypso-style rhythms and feel. It's the driving force behind the swing in our music. It's smooth, sexy and makes you feel good.'
