Bay C launches Reggae/Dancehall first NFT

Veteran Deejay and former member of the group TOK Roshaun 'Bay C' Clarke has broken new grounds by becoming the first Jamaican professional to get into the NFT game. According to Caricoin, the Caribbean's leading cryptocurrency platform,

'Non-fungible tokens (NFT) are digital assets that represent a wide range of unique tangible and intangible items, from collectible sports cards to virtual real estate and even digital sneakers.'

The entrepreneur has released the single Holy Temple for a limited run. NFTs offer owners a royalty-free license to use copy and display. This for the potential owner's non-commercial personal use and as need to resell the NFT.

Bay C noted 'I am pleased to announce the launch of the first Reggae and Dancehall NFT - Holy Temple. NFT is a game-changer for the creative industry as creators can now sell their content as unique and rare collectibles and be supported directly by their fans. It brings back the value of the works to the creator. It is still a new space for many, but it is truly the way of the future, and I am happy to be at the forefront of this, not just for me but also for my culture.'

NFTs have ushered in a revolution in the music industry, a paradigm shift that will empower artists worldwide. They allow artists to sell their music directly to fans, cutting out the middle-man.

Bombrush Records, the label driving the Bay-C release, is pioneering the space for Reggae NFTs and will be launching new NFTs regularly. Co-designed with blockchain partner Caricoin, they will be offering the service to other Reggae and Dancehall acts and producers to allow them to launch their own NFTs.
